Today another year comes to an end and honestly, I have a lot to be thankful for.
The beginning of this year didn't come easily; I lost loved ones and almost lost myself. But with the help of Prayers, friends and strong family support I was able to make it through.... with flying colors, glitters and butterflies of course...
To my dearest friends who never fail to keep me from breaking the rules completely and go cray cray (despite The #panicroom events in life) thank you for every effort you make to keep my sanity intact.... the advice's, words from the heart and long long conversations even from a distance! (time difference didn't matter) Every effort is appreciated from the heart, I love you guys! My friends have become my family through the years and I treasure each and every one of you. I may not have grown up with the same culture but you've accepted me as crazy as I am (even if my tagalog is madalas mali spelling lol). We can't deny it we are getting older and I’m ever so thankful that we are still in each other’s lives. Looking forward to more crazy moments and life changing milestones with ya’ll.
I've made a lot of new friends this year and for that I am most grateful. There were moments when I didn't know what relevance each person had but now I see how much of myself was transformed for the better because of them. One friend in particular calls me Ms. Congeniality (u know who u are), I just love meeting new people because I find comfort in their company. I feel that our differences in life have a way of teaching us of what is significant. In short kung ano meron ka wala ako and ano meron ako wala ka so we need each other, diba?! It doesn't matter where you’re from as long as you understand and accept who a person is then you’re in for a lifelong triumph. The gift of friendship is truly irreplaceable.
Friends= more people to laugh with me, cry with me, guide me, inspire me, learn from and more people to share the best of life with. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. And so if I made you laugh even just a little bit then it was my pleasure because within that moment I got to touch your life and I got to share a part of me with you. So Thank You!
Yes, it was a sensational (yes exaggerated) year for me simply because I got to learn, discover and explore within myself the things I don’t usually do or am not used to doing because I've always kept myself in the "zone". As my daddy would say "always act properly". I enjoyed it while it lasted. Good girl gone bad (for a while). 2013 was a memorable year but December was my most memorable month of all, every single highlight of my life was in it. It was filled with so many memories that I cannot even describe in one word. I cried, I loved, I laughed (a lot actually), I realized things, I went a little overboard, I took a chance, I made a difference and most of all I learned to forgive. It was a whirlwind of emotions I never knew I was capable of handling on my own. My heart grew fonder and stronger with every heartbeat. Maybe I needed the chaos just so I could mold myself around it and one day come to realize what it all meant. I didn't understand the “why’s” when it was all happening but I’m thankful of how everything approached clarity at the right moment.
To those I've hurt, had misunderstandings with, had bad bad bad days with in the past patawad, minsan wala ako sa tamang pag iisip at kulang pa sa kaalaman sa buhay para umintindi sa lahat nang nagaganap. minsan hindi ko alam agad ang sagot, minsan i refuse to understand, minsan confused lang, at minsan nag papanic lang, sorry naman. It was not purposely done na may masaktan ako because I myself don't like the feeling of getting hurt. It sucks! I am still hopeful that one day maaayos ang lahat, mapapatawad mo ako and we can truly say "thank you for everything", in god's time.
This time around I bring with me every lesson learned, every experience experienced, every emotion felt and every single detail of advice I received to welcome 2014 with all optimism. I close my eyes, wish upon a star and pray that everything will fall into place. I believe the right people are the ones who come into your life unexpectedly and change you forever.
This is life and it is happening now, no Regrets just Love.

Story of my dogs 🐶🐾
When i was younger i never was allowed to have pets maybe because we lived in condo's all the time and dogs aren't that cheap abroad. So it has always been on my wish list to have a dog, a small dog actually.
After college graduation (2008) i felt kinda alone since everyone started to do their thing, got a job, took the board exam, went abroad to work and i wanted to do something new in my life. Without a doubt i went looking online for a small dog and found myself attached to this photo advertisement of a cute little puppy, it was a shihtzu breed. That was when i knew i wanted the puppy asap! His smile was just the cutest! As if saying "please buy me".
After a week or so i called up the seller/breeder and he said he could drop the puppy at the house, yehey! They came all the way from pampanga and i was in manila the seller was kind enough to being puppy over without charging us for his bus fare. It was love at first sight, i was smitten by this cute little furry thing! he was just sooooo adorable! I couldn't help it i was so happy! He was so small, so white and so playful.
After the seller left it then hit me...umm what will this small puppy eat? What stuff does he need? Actually i never really thought about it before at all! I just knew i wanted a puppy without even realizing the responsibility attached to it. So i went to this place called arangque(not sure of the spelling) in manila cause a friend said they might have dog food but i didn't find any, in fact i found a whole lot of dog&cat breeders who sold everything from monkeys to snakes. It was an awkward place for me to see i just couldn't stand seeing puppies caged and sold like a piece of furniture. It was so heart breaking knowing those breeders were all just after the money. They made cross breeds just so they could sell the puppies more expensively. Insane right!?
I then went to the sm mall to check if they had dog food there (cause i had no idea) and yey! they did! So i just grabbed one (alpo) and went back home.
I started feeding puppy and he loved it. After a few days i came across a dog forum and read that puppies need vaccines too, so i started looking for a vet. The closest one was animal house i had no idea it was so expensive to have puppy vaccines and we had them every 2 weeks for the 5 in 1 + anti rabies would be the last given annually. We then needed to give him a name cause they were making a record so we decided to name him cloud, since he was so white.
I was starting to understand it now pets need a human to take care of them and that was something i wanted at that time in my life, i wanted to love and be loved.
After about 7 months i decided to get another puppy this time a girl. I learned a lot about shihtzu's from forums, how to take care of their hair, the tangles, how to cut nails, what shampoo to use, what dog food to eat, when to de worm and how often they need to be groomed.
I saw this small puppy who was a month old and the breeder was selling her asap cause he said he needed money. So after a few days i met him at sm moa and i saw how tiny his little puppy was. Back then i wasn't aware that puppies that are 1 month olds still drink milk from their mom. The breeder didn't say much he just showed her and gave the pcci papers. I didn't know she had skin problems because it was already in the evening when we met and it was impossible to see underneath the thick fur, i just noticed them when my skin started to itch too. Her first night at home i think she was looking for her mom, she was crying so loud and so i took her and made her sleep beside me. Cloud didn't know what to do either cause he was used to being the only puppy. We decided to name her lulu cause she was so small "little lulu". I then went searching for a better vet someone who could help cure my lulu's skin.
So i posted online and asked pet parents who their vets are and from there i looked for one who was close to me. I came across dr.rico of dogs land, the clinic was just a few minutes away from home so we made a visit the next day.
I was surprised to see so many pet owners at the vet, they were all happy and friendly. I never get to talk to other pet parents at our previous vet clinic because it would always be only us there. I knew we were in the right place. I filled up a form so they could make a record and then waited to be called. When it was our turn doc rico introduced himself, asked the name of my puppy and what my concern was. So i told him she has rashes on her skin and i didn't know what it was. Doc then took a sample from the rash and took a look under the microscope. He then told me it was scabies and made me look at the microscope too. He then explained that she may have gotten it from the kennel and it can be cured. He then took a look at her ears and told me she has ear mites then showed me again in the microscope what they look like. I've never seen such things! He then explained that some breeders don't care about the puppies they just want to sell them for the money and maybe that's why lulu was full of scabies&mites. Not everyone has a love for dogs.
Doc rico was so nice and considerate he explained everything i needed to know. You could see how passionate he is about his profession the way he explains it's so fab and understandable.
I was then given some meds to take home and use on lulu. He also advised to keep cloud away from lulu cause he might also get the scabies&ear mites. So i just separated them for a while.
I was so happy seeing such things as mites on the microscope and hearing all of this information for the first time. I knew he was going to be our vet forever!lol
Fast forward to today after 4 shihtzu's, 1 chihuahua and 1 yorchi, i would say i wasn't prepared for all of this responsibility at once but i sure am the happiest when they are around. Yes it's life changing but i made a choice for them to be in my life and so i shall enjoy this unconditional love that no one else could provide.
Having dogs is a life time commitment and i know as long as they are alive i cannot have an excuse for not waking up in the morning. They are the ultimate stress relievers and i can say they have changed my life forever.

funerals...2011, 2012&2013.
as a kid i never really knew what or where people go after they die. we never really had funeral services abroad (dubai) nor had i actually attended one ever. as far as i know when people die and they are foreigners they would be sent back to their home land. so i never really saw what funerals looked like....until i cane to manila.
i remember my first time ever to see a dead person inside a coffin was at karen's (Filipino friend) mom's funeral. i think i was in 1st year college(2003?) back then and i had no idea what to do, what to bring or what to wear.
my gay friend and i traveled all the way from manila going to cavite because that was where the funeral was, at karen's mom's house. i was actually no so sure what i was doing but i did want to pay my respects since karen was a close friend of mine and actually still is. when we arrived i saw their gate open with a tent and a lot of people playing cards. i guess that's how it's done in this country? we then went inside the house where the coffin was i saw lots of flowers, pictures and then we went over to the coffin. i couldn't explain how i felt it was so sad. i then realized how important funeral's are because it is the only time you get to see your loved ones one last time.
Come 2011 we had our own funeral in the family. my uncle (kuya benny) was stabbed while helping a friend get out of an argument but sadly he was the one who died. i couldn't explain how i felt when i got the news because i was close to my father's side. i cried a lots and lots of tears knowing he was an innocent life taken by an angry man and the angry man is now hiding. yes he still is not captured by the police. my kuya benny was one good uncle, he was the one who first taught me how to drive and my first vehicle was his jeepney. i said to myself one day i shall come to laguna (where they live) in a car and make him proud because he taught me how to drive, but sadly that day would never happen. and i know once i do get a chance to drive in my own car i will end up crying because i will always remember him. i would miss his valentine greetings cause he's still single and would always share how his date would go on valentines. and most of all i would miss my birthday greetings from him.
i came to my grand mom's house where the funeral was held and saw her sitting at her rocking chair facing the coffin. i gave her a hug and she said to me "my son didn't do anything wrong, why did he have to die" then she started crying which was also bad for her health cause she has a weak heart so i told her to not feel sad. i know it's hard for a mother to loose a son before her and seeing how sad my lola (grand ma) was i know she was trying to be strong.
as i looked in the coffin crying, i saw my kuya benny life less with a painful face expression, as the elders said it was a sign that he died a painful death. i never really felt the pain and sadness of it all until it was the last day of the funeral and we were taking him to the church for the blessing of the dead. i then realized that would be my one and only moment i could ever see him. i would stare at him a lot because i didn't want to forget his face. my parents didn't come to the funeral because they were abroad and so i felt that was also the reason for my tears i cried for the whole family. this was my first ever funeral in the family and now i know how sad it was to actually loose someone you care about. i would agree to what people say the pain won't go away that easily. he died December 24, 2011.
3 months passed after my kuya benny's death. something unexpected happened. my lola woke up one day in march 2012 and couldn't move one side of her body, she couldn't get up, sit and couldn't eat. my other uncle (kuya noli) then called me and asked me what to do. immediately i knew it was a stroke since it was a one side paralysis. this was i think her second stroke. they tried to get a doctor to have her checked but couldn't find one who could come to the house. i have no idea why doctors in the provinces don't do house calls. the next day they transferred her to veterance hospital in quezon city via ambulance since she is a veteran's dependent and we would get free services there. it was then confirmed she had a stroke. we could speak to her and she could still move the one side of her body when told to. she was then take to the ICU, scanned a number of times and the doctors say the hemorrhage in her head was way too big already and they would give her 7 days to recover. they did daily tests on her and she responded very well every day except on the last day 7th day she started degenerating she was unresponsive and the doctors made a decision that she failed the test because on the 7th day she failed to respond which means she will only have a few more days to live.
she was then transferred to a ward since the ICU is only for people with life support and we decided to not have her on life support because it was not a guarantee that she would live. we didn't want her to die the hard way with all of those tubes in her body.
I was watching over her one night and when she went on deep breaths i knew the time was getting closer. she couldn't open her eyes but that night i was sleeping on a chair beside her holding her hand i saw her open he eyes a little bit and i know she could feel me holding her hands. in that very moment i felt her say thank you. i've been taking care of her since she got her first stroke because i'm the eldest grand daughter and i'm the only nurse in the family.
the next day i asked my only uncle left to come and visit her one last time and say goodbye, i asked my brother to come and say goodbye because i know she needs the support/closure. i also told my dad to talk to her one last time so he called from abroad. knowing that she had all her family beside her that day i know she was happy. we all got to talk to her, hug her, kiss her, hold her hand.
we all went home after that day, me because i was exhausted from watching overnight and her caregiver was there to cover for me. the following morning we all received a text from the caregiver, lola was gone. a month before turning 90 she was 89 years old. time of death 6:45 am march 21, 2012.
I know she died in peace because we were all there that night, maybe that was all she was waiting for..our goodbyes. i couldn't believe this was happening one funeral after another and in the same family. until someone told me maybe we were cursed, she said i needed to put a pair of scissors in lola's hands to the curse would be cut. we asked the funeral home to put scissors in her hands before she was buried.
After a year and two months yes you guessed it...someone again passed away. this time it was on my mom's side. my parents came to manila in January 2013 so i kinda had a feeling my grand pa was just waiting for them to spend time with them. they didn't visit manila for 5 years.
lolo (grand pa) was a strong man he would go jogging in the morning, he would plant flowers and vegetables. he was diagnosed with prostate stage 1 last 2011 but he's doing well with his medications ever since. that's why it all came as a shock on may 13, it was election day. he went for a jog, he voted and he wore his new shoes. but later that day he felt weak and pain at his chest so my mom and uncle took him to the hospital in laguna and was diagnosed to have had a stroke. his blood pressure was extremely low and his sugar was high, i think they even said he is diabetic. the hospital they brought him to was not well equipped and so again we needed to transfer him to a better facility in quezon city, this time they took him to the heart center since that was the orders of the doctor. my uncle was with him the whole time and my mom and dad came to manila via bus. when they arrived lolo was take in for tests asap but sadly died after 2 hours. my mom was heart broken, they just got to spent so little time together and now he's gone. i told her to go to the hospital so she could touch him one lat time. they all went back to laguna together and my mom dressed up lolo in the funeral home. i know it was the saddest moment in her life to loose a dad. i will miss him a lot specially when i go visit davao again, ill remember him. we went to davao together in 2011, and he was the happiest when he was there. i was also sad because he will never see me marry or have children. i was always hoping my grandparents would be around to see my kids. he died may 13, 2013.
I am not so sure what's gonna happen or who will die next year but i am still praying that no one will. because our family is really small and i don't think i can handle any more deaths. it's just too painful for me and the family.

my puppy is a model!
yesterday despite my skin condition i had to go out, yes i know it was brave of me!lol because it was the photo shoot day of my puppies for a pet shop's magazine, the same pet shop i used to work for as a frontline/pet consultant. had i known we were actually considered i should have been more prepared for it, i was only informed a day before (sunday). so we or should i say i was so freaked out since i had no idea how i was going to face the world with a face that is under construction, peeling and patchy red here and there. so i just put on my brave face placed the puppies in their carrier and just told myself it would be so nice to see them at a magazine. i was somewhat concerned about how the puppies would react to the outdoor environment since it;s their first time ever to get out of the house. they did kinda well actually except they felt a bit hot even if we took the cab to and from the location. i also felt that they enjoyed seeing a lot of people and other puppies, there were kittens too. the shoot was set up on a table the puppies and kittens were placed together in a laundry basket sleeping and relaxing. it was so cute! and as my puppies are shihtzu's they love to jump around,play and explore so after how many camera shots my puppy was too excited to stay still so they had to swap my two puppies whenever one was getting fuzzy.
all of them did really well! they were all so adorable!

we got these freebies for taking part, towels, reusable bag, magazines and oh yeah and some gift cards too :)
it was fun doing this and it was also our first time. i can only imagine how much the real model dogs are making from magazines they must really be trained to project on camera.

picture time!
earlier today i went to the mall to get myself a whole body picture. i need to use it when applying at airline companies. there's a lot of choices when it comes to picking a store to take your picture but one came to mind because i keep seeing the photo's displayed at the mall and they're all so perfect. i chose great image and i didn't regret going there. the branch i went to was at sm cubao facing ali mall. at first i was thinking hmm this must be expensive cause the photo's all look so well. when i inquired about the whole body photo the lady said they have it in 8pcs i think you only need those when the recruiters ask for it? i just needed one for ipams. so i asked if they do one photo only or does it have to be a set of 8 and she said yes it was for just 300+ psos if one photo only. it's my first time to do this whole body photo thing so i didn't know if the lady was just giving me sales talk with the 8pcs of photos needed for 800+ pesos or if i'll just need one photo for 300+ pesos. i just took the one whole body photo and told them i'll just recopy if needed. so i went ahead and did some retouching, changed shoes and wore my blazer. then the photographer asks me what airline is it for so that they can adjust the background. i was surprised that they knew a lot about taking photo's for FA aspirants she even told me how to pose and how to project. a lot of customers have been to their shop for whole body shots that's why the lady photographer knows so much. she even said that the airline guidelines for photos were also given to them that's why they asks customers what airline it is for so that they can check the details needed on the airline photo guideline.
after the shoot all the photo's taken were showed to me at the computer and i had to choose which one i liked the most so that was what they were going to print. after picking a photo they gave me 3 hours to wait for the photo's to be ready (yes i know, for a kinda high end shop i too was surprised it would take them that long to edit&print) so i went to the mall and had lunch.
after 3 hours i came back to pick up the photo and it was perfect! no regrets on this one.
tada! so there you go, my first whole body picture!
if by chance i'll need more i'll surely get the set of 8 i think it would have been cheaper i was just not sure if i'll have any use for all 8 pictures right now.

thrift finds in manila
Today i'd like to share with ya'll my thrift finds. all of these items were bought at one store in cubao, Philippines. i was surprised actually to see a whole bunch of thrift stores there it was like thrift store central!lol and they were super cheap too. but i was too tired from one store (cause it was HUGE) to explore the others but next time i shall try to get into all of them, they look interesting.
i did get to see some surplus stores too but they didn't allow me to take pictures maybe another time ill sneak in a picture or two. it's not like there are items there that's super expensive, they're all used after all. i don't get why some shops don't allow picture taking. weird.
well anyway i think a few blogs back i mentioned i was bored and went to the mall then found these thrift stores along the way and got some nice cheap items. i'm really not that picky when it comes to shopping as long as they're pretty much clean and still wearable it's fine with me and cheap or on sale. all of the items i saw were within the range of 70-150 in peso. which was not bad, it was great! and i was surprised to see they were branded items too like mango, forever21 etc it was nice to be able to buy something worth more than half of it's price although it's used, i don't mind. i think i spent like an hour or two in the shop since it was like a huge warehouse. they had a wide variety of items from bags, shoes, boots, jackets, coats, slacks, jeans, skirts, blouses, long sleeves, dresses and even gowns! the shops name was Fashion delite (if i'm correct) it was just below gateway mall cubao (again this is in the Philippines) along the corner of national book store. you wont miss it cause they own like 1/4 of the ground floor space, it's pretty huge. when you go in just make sure you have no where else to go cause it's a big shop and would take more than an hour to explore specially when looking for brands cause they're all mixed up in there somewhere.
so here are some of the items i got, not a lot cause it's hard to find sizes that fit perfectly.
first the tops both were just 70 pesos each-
this one is a light green semi bolero/blazer type. not sure of the brand. i liked it cause i can wear it in summer instead of those long sleeved blazers. still a bit corporate but more casual. would do with a dress or just skinny jeans too. i love hoe the garter in the sides gives it a form fitting look.
this one is a sheer top with the rounded collar. i super liked it cause it was polka dots and sheer. it's not branded by the way. the back was sheer while the front was lined. it's just something i liked maybe to pair with shorts.
next the dresses, 150 pesos-
this one i super love! its a jeans material dress by mango! hello, how cute is this right?!
it has removable straps too. so glad it fits me. i think that was meant to be mine!lol
next is this cotton on dress. it is kinda similar to the mango one but this one has no straps at all and it's garter-ed under the bust area. super cute floral prints all over. perfect for summer! easy breezy!
last dress i got is this forever21 pink one. it's actually a large and i wanted it so bad but when i fitted it, thank god it fit! cause i super loved this one too because its pink. it's stretch material with stripes print and oh so flowy. i think i just got a new set of summer dresses in hand! yehey to that!
those were the only items i got cause a lot in the store weren't my size but i super love them all.
cant wait to wear them, for sure they are my new favorites. each item was in pretty much used once condition. no rips, stains, tears or major signs of use. the forever21 dress actually smelled like it came from the department store, so was guessing it's pretty new. although there are some items in the store that had missing buttons, loose threads or stains on them so just be careful and scrutinize items if you're picky like me. i wanted a bargain and not something which is obviously super flawed. now that wouldn't be value for my money if i had to spend on dry cleaning it.i wanted to get some boots too cause they had a lot of brands but they were all in big sizes. i hope when i come back ill get to buy some or at least one.
surely i will come back for more maybe when i get bored again at home cause thrift shopping takes a lot of your time, i was not aware how long i was actually in there. it's was fun to see everything super cheap&come out with a bag full of clothes.surely it would cost 5x the price if i got these brand new at the mall . now that's a bargain!
